Who may apply for the Europass Mobility?
The institution that sends the holder of the Europass Mobility abroad applies for the Europass Mobility.
It may be a school applying for its pupils or a company sending staff abroad.
It is currently not possible for individuals to make Europass Mobility applications. -
In which countries may the periods of learning take place?
A Europass Mobility application can be made for stays abroad in all EU countries, EEA countries (Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein) and in Turkey, Croatia and Switzerland.
A Europass Mobility application can currently be made for the following countries:
Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Poland, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey and United Kingdom. -
May I apply for the Europass Mobility for a period spent abroad as an au pair or for language courses?
Europass Mobility records periods of learning spent abroad in Europe.
Europass Mobility applications are usually made by schools, vocational schools, vocational training centres, international offices at academic institutions, human resources departments at companies and universities.
It is essential that the quality criteria laid down in the Europass Decision for the period to be spent abroad are met. These criteria are as follows:- a written agreement between the home institution and host organisation on the content, aims and duration of the period of learning;
- appropriate linguistic preparation of participants;
- a mentor abroad to provide support and act as a contact partner;
- each of the countries involved must be a Member State of the European Union or an EFTA/EEA country (plus Turkey and Croatia).

May an application for the Europass Mobility be made for activities that take place in the applicant's own country?
No. The Europass Mobility records skills and activities that have taken place in connection with periods of time spent abroad.
It cannot be used to record training that takes place in the applicant’s own country.
Please note that distance learning activities based in the participants‘ home countries cannot be considered either.
