  • Europass CV and Language Passport online: upgrade to OpenDocument format.

The online tool for creating Europass CV and Language Passport has been upgraded to support the generation of Europass documents in OpenDocument format (.odt). Accordingly, the Europass CV and LP templates are now available in OpenDocument format (instead of OpenOffice) from the Download section. Additionally, the "Preview" function has been optimised and is now being displayed much faster.

The OpenDocument format (ODF, ISO/IEC 26300, full name: OASIS Open Document Format for Office Applications) is an open file format for electronic office documents, developed by the Open Office XML technical committee of the Organization for the Advancement of Structured Information Standards (OASIS) consortium. The OpenDocument standard meets the common definitions of an open standard, meaning that the specification is freely available and implementable. With this upgrade the size of table cells can now exceed one page (a known issue in the OpenOffice.org version).
